Ok, so here's the deal. This is not an organized tour. This is a convergence. An alignment of planets. A conspiracy to make trouble.
These are my details, and anyone who wants to be there (well, anyone I know. I don't really want strangers to come) is welcome to join the party. You plan as much or as little as you want to do. No stalkers, please. So, you say you don't like staying in hostels or riding in buses? No problem. You can do what you feel comfortable with. My itinerary, published below, is what I am doing. Sept 25 I'm flying from LAX to Shannon. (I have booked this on Aer Lingus)
Sept 26 Flight arrives in Shannon in the early morning. First bus to Ennis is at 10, so I'll probably have a nice Irish breakfast in the airport, if that is possible. Bus to Ennis. Hop onto another bus that goes to Doolin. Check in to Aille River Hostel. (I have booked myself into the 6 bed mixed dorm room) Expect to pay about 20 Euros per night. Bus tickets have to be purchased closer to the trip dates, as they don't have the schedules up for September yet. Pubs at night. More for the traditional music than for drinking.
Sept 27 10 am day trip to Inisheer with Cliffs of Moher drive-by on Doolin2Aran Ferries. Return is at 16:45. Expect it to cost about 30 Euro. Pubs at night.
Sept 28 Bus to Galway at 10:00 am 2 nights at Snoozles Hostel on Quay Street. (I have booked myself into the 4 bed mixed dorm room) Expect to pay about 50 Euro per night. Pubs at night.
Sept 29 My birthday! The big five-oh. The only thing I really want to do is play in the session at the Crane. I may not be good enough, but I don't care.
Sept 30 Check out of Snoozles and take a bus to Dublin. At this point, I'm staying with friends, but you are welcome to hang out with us wherever we end up. We might go to the Guinness factory (cuz you sort of have to, right?) But I really don't know what we'll do.
